First Name Samuel
Sumitra Murmu married young hoping for love, children and a home of her own. When Bejoy was born she felt her dreams were coming true. One evening she had dinner ready, little Bejoy was asleep for the night, but her husband did not come home. She waited until late then covered the rice and curry dishes and went to bed. Thoughts tumbled through her mind! Where was her husband? Why had he not come home? Exhausted she fell into a troubled sleep. Days went by and her husband did not appear....just when Sumitra was giving up hope of ever seeing him again her husband returned with no explanation. In a few months Sumitra was pregnant with another child. During this pregnancy her husband, again, disappeared! After doing this every few months he disappeared over a year ago and has never returned. She was left with two little boys and no income! She knew she had to give up her youngest boy and go to work. She knew about Bangla Hope and so she came to us. Little Samuel now has a home in the country with all the other little ones. Updated 1/18: Samuel is in 6th grade this year (2018).
