Marjorie Mae's Story

2024 school year update Marjorie failed her HSC exam in chemistry, and chose to retake all of her HSC exams. She is currently on the BH campus, and she will be applying to medical school in the Philippines at some point in the future. Update 10-5-23. Marjorie is @ SAMS studying for her HSC exams. If she passes with adequate grades, she can then apply for a student visa to the Philippines. This process will take quite some time. 

Marjories mother came to our Receiving Center/Orphanage with Marjorie and her little brother, David. She has a place not far from our Receiving Center, but she is originally from a remote hill area of Bangladesh. She is from a tribal group called Garo. Her husband left her about a year ago when David was a tiny baby. She has never seen him again. She cannot take care of her two little ones and work. She also has a six year old son who is going to school. She went to the police and signed over her little ones to us. Marjorie is beginning to adjust to our Receiving Center. Beverly Waid, Director Bangla Hope Orphanage Update 1/2018 Marjorie is in class 9 and attending SAMS (Seventh-day Adventist Maranatha Seminary). She says she likes her science class best of all. She could eat cookies anytime because she loves them so much! She likes to jump rope during her free time. Marjorie wants to go to college and become a nurse. She is a very quiet girl. Her best friend is Kakoli. She has a beautiful smile and sweet disposition.

July 2020 Update: Congratulations to Marjorie for her high score of 4.56 on her SSC (10th grade) exam! Marjorie will be heading to India when school opens to continue her studies in the field of science.
